I shall make a table out of the books I own...

A few nights ago, after our home study still hadn't come in the mail, and I was itching to do anything, something, I went online looking for one particular book that my sister, Rissa, had told me about. It's called there is no me without you, and literally made me cry reading the review on the book. I can't wait to have it...

So.
So, I went online to Amazon and bought it as quickly as I could. {because that very night I went to two different bookstores and neither had it in stock..} and then, while I was at it, {and frankly a bit bored} I started looking at baby books for baby ... {because everyone knows, baby can never have too many books!}

and I got..

..one of my very favorite books, Shaoey and Dot. It's about a little girl, waiting in an orphanage for parents and the little ladybug who watches over here. Seriously, if you haven't read it, you need to. I cried my eyes out the first time I read it to Elijah and Elizabeth. {and, while I'm being brutally honest, the second, third and fourth time too.. }

and then, of course I had to get Love You Forever. I love this book, and I love reading it. {especially when you are rocking a baby back and forth, back and forth...}

and, then, I need some reading material for me and husband man about our future baby and the adjustments baby will go through, right?!?

So, I got a few..

...in all, I actually bought eleven books for me and Ry and four for baby . But, the best part about Amazon is they sell used books. I actually got one for 50 cents plus shipping...

amazing...I tell you, simply amazing.

{and if need be, I shall make side tables out of all the books we now own. }

xoxo

You can never have too many books...you just keep buying great ways to display them. That's my theory anyway.

Thanks for posting about these books! They look great! I found your blog through your mom's - whom I've recently begun reading. So happy for you and your husband and praying with you for your little one. I can't wait to read some of these books. :)

Two other great books that our girls have loved are "Little Monkey's One Safe Place" about a little monkey who is scared and can't find a safe place until he is in he mother's arms and "Napping House" just a very cute book with great pictures. Ches could recite the whole thing when she was only 2! We love books in this house, I need more shelves to hold them all.

Books are a great thing to buy, doesn't matter how old they are they will like books. Can't wait to know who it will be so I can start sewing!! All those little girl clothes you like are so sweet, they look fun to make! You are always in our prayers! So excited to walk this journey with you! We love that little one already!

You are absolutely right, you can never have too many books. I want to read Melissa's book so I'm looking at the library to see if I can get it.

I just found your blog from your mom's and I am SO thrilled for you!! We are waiting for our three toddlers from Haiti and I have read just about every adoption book out there :)
I wanted to let you know that Birth Marks should be read with a grain of salt as I found it to be pretty negative and judgmental. Maybe you won't find it to be but I did want to give you a heads up just in case...I was pretty depressed after reading it until my husband gave me some perspective :)
I don't want to be one of "those" people who write nasty comments but I felt I needed to mention it. Anyway, congratulations and I can't wait to follow your adoption process! God Bless

I just bought Melissa Fay Green's book, too. And am excited to read it.

I am excited to follow your journey to your baby. It is such a beautiful thing.

Adoption is something that has been on my heart for years now. I am no where near that place in my life, but I know someday it is God's plan.
